Katie: built, and in daily testing with our first student

Software is built for the average user. The average user does not exist.

ttak builds software that fits the person using it. Neurodiverse or neurotypical, the work is the same: find where a tool and a person fail to meet, then build the one that meets them. Our first product is Katie.

Why ttak exists

Everyone works around the gap. Some people cannot.

Everyone works around the gap between how a tool behaves and how they actually think. Most people have done it so long that they no longer notice they are doing it.

Some people cannot work around it. For them the gap is not an annoyance, it decides whether a thing gets finished at all. A student can understand the material completely and still fail the class. The class is not only the material. It is a syllabus hiding three deadlines in one paragraph, an assignment that has to start nine days early, and a form nobody mentioned.

We do not treat that as two kinds of people. A tool that does not fit is a fact about the tool. So we build for neurodiverse and neurotypical users the same way, and the difference between the two is what fits, not how hard we work at it.

ttak is the Korean word 딱.

It means exactly right, the perfect fit.

What we have built

One product. One student. Every day.

Katie

In testing

An assistant for people who can do the work and get stuck on everything around it. It turns a syllabus, a routine, and a campus map into one calm plan, shows one step at a time, and never shames a miss.

What comes next

One engine. More than one tool.

Katie, as it is today, is one arrangement of something larger. The same engine can be tuned for a person whose problem is nothing like a college schedule.

The student who needs the opposite

Some people track their own routines perfectly and have no idea what to do with an empty afternoon, or what to say to the person across the hall. Same engine, different tools turned on.

The executive with the same problem in a suit

The work an experienced person keeps redoing badly because nobody built the tool for it. This is where the method came from before it was ever pointed at a student.

These come next, as parts of Katie. If one of them sounds like you, get on the early access list and you will hear when it is real.
